So while researching indigo I found the the first jeans were made by Jacob Davis and Levi Strauss in 1873. The only two styles were indigo blue and brown cotton "duck." I also found out that jeans made today are made with a synthetic indigo versus real indigo.
While weaving with indigo yarn I really want to incorporate jeans, using a supplementary weft, so I can create my own form of indigo jeans.
I want to use jeans that are made with synthetic indigo with yarn dyed with real indigo so that together they create authentic indigo jeans.
